A Veteran’s Perspective on the DHS Drivel

Last week it was revealed to all police authorities and the American public that veterans were now considered terrorists. I have had some time to mull the thought over. I have gone from tears to just plain angry. I remain angry today.

I have capabilities that the United States Navy taught me. I have never once thought about using them against my own country or other Americans. There is something about honor and loyalty so deeply entrenched in my soul if I did that my guilt would be my undoing. The country would be one less veteran.

My duty remains to this country. I have never stopped serving my country. I work as a grassroots veterans advocate. I was the original driving force for the Tea Parties in Wichita, KS. And my work is not done.

I am extremely angry that a fraudulent and weak kneed administration would possibly consider me a terrorist without empirical evidence. There is absolutely no evidence that veterans have become members of militia. None would either….

I have only known duty to my country. I served with honor and a deep loyalty that 275 million Americans wouldn’t even consider doing nor understand. The truth is veterans generally gather together at American Legions, they ride with the American Legion Riders and there are the most incredibly brave ones who are members of The Patriot Guard. They remain ever faithful to a country that has deemed them to be terrorists.

Janet Napolitano attempted to apologize to veterans but it was hollow. It lacked true feeling. Her apology was as hollow as Obama’s when he attempted to apologize for his singular attack on veterans a few weeks back. Obama wouldn’t even meet with the veterans organizations, he left it to Pelosi. The great usurper has exposed his yellow under belly, he is nothing but a coward who has denigrated veterans.

I am more pissed off than ever because no one in DC can apologize to veterans and mean it. The hollowness rings loud and clear. And by the way I don’t accept their apologies…for they are not real, they are bogus.

Simply put the usurper and his administration HATE veterans, a word that doesn’t usually find its way into my vocabulary. The usurper’s administration are running scared of veterans because they are so anti-American while we remain American to the core. They are trying to keep us from organizing as a legitimate voice against their policies.

Well the asshats need to run scared. We stand up today supporting our Constitution, speaking out against a bunch of crooks in DC who are trampling on the very rights it endows to its citizens. Rights that I protected through my service.

After this action I am more certain than ever that the usurper in the White House must be impeached. Napolitano must be fired. Clean house at the Department of Defense because there are now evil agents working within the system to destroy the military. Off with all their heads I say!

  1. Our nation has brought home veterans from foreign wars for 5 generations, why all of a sudden the concerns about our vets? Why is this administration so paranoid?

This reminds me of the who birth certificate nonsense. If you’re a citizen show the frickin’ birth certificate instead of millions in legal defense to avoid having to do so.

    Just sayin’.

    FROM JOSEPH FARAH’S G2 BULLETIN
How Obama actually delayed pirate rescue
SEAL team deployment stalled 36 hours, hampered by limited rules of engagement
Editor’s note: The following is adapted from an exclusive report in Joseph Farah’s G2 Bulletin, the premium, online intelligence newsletter edited by the founder of WND
While Barack Obama is basking in praise for his “decisive” handling of the Somali pirate attack on a merchant ship in the India Ocean, reliable military sources close to the scene are painting a much different picture of the incident – accusing the president of employing restrictive rules of engagement that actually hampered the rescue of Capt. Richard Phillips and extended the drama at sea for days.

Multiple opportunities to free the captain of the Maersk Alabama from three young pirates were missed, these sources say – all because a Navy SEAL team was not immediately ordered to the scene and then forced to operate under strict, non-lethal rules of engagement.

They say the response duty office at the Pentagon was initially unwilling to grant an order to use lethal force to rescue Phillips. They also report the White House refused to authorize deployment of a Navy SEAL team to the location for 36 hours, despite the recommendation of the on-scene commander.

The White House also turned down two rescue plans offered up by the Seal commander on the scene and the captain of the USS Bainbridge.

The SEAL team operated under rules of engagement that required them to do nothing unless the hostage’s life was in “imminent’ danger.

the rest of that article is at the link …
but I think that explains why on his welcome home .. Captain Philips wife said ” I have always been proud of my country ” and why Captain Philips did not thank the resident at all for his rescue in his speech, and why the story seems to have suddenly disappeared from the news

The DHS report seems to have been widely mischaracterized by the right. The focus was on the danger of far-right terrorist groups recruiting veterans, which they are certainly trying to do. The number of veterans who have joined terrorist groups is extremely tiny, but it is not zero, and people with weapons training in such groups are obviously of special concern.

An FBI report last year (under the Bush administration) raised similar issues. It’s not something peculiar to O & Co.

  4. Hold on there, there are people, this country has trained that went over to the drug cartels side, down in Mexico, doing much more REAL damage, right now in REAL time…. not anticipated could do damage. There are Mexican Drug Gangs in 230 American Cities. BUT someone who stood up for their country and swore an oath to the defend and protect the Constitution is a potential threat? My husband gave 27 years to the Army in defense and protection of OUR country.

People want to believe this drivel, this is the threat American People have to worry about? No this is a threat to a Progressive if they are paranoid-which points to guilty consciences. paranoid which apparently they are. My husband’s family predominantly military veterans. Many veterans won’t be forgetting the insult and hostility from DHS, and Obama’s lame appointment to head it up. Yes they all vote. Still I read and hear that Obama is a centrist? Where is Obama displaying any centrism? I do know he is a proud Progressive.

Let’s not get caught up in right-wing talking points that have no connection with reality.

Did you actually read the report? Pages of drivel, with no substantial data or cited statistics/facts to actually prove any of the claims.

Additionally, it classified “single issue” voters, like those who are pro-life and those who oppose illegal immigration in as potential “right wing extremists.” This list now includes anyone from Catholics and other Christian denominations who believe abortion is a sin, to those of us who believe the laws of the United States should be enforced. So this is in no way limited to a small number of veterans who may join extremist groups.

It is meant to target and cover all who hold even ONE viewpoint that’s in opposition to Obama’s, and that should send up red flags for everybody.

  6. This report does exactly what the left wing went bat shit crazy about when the right wingers were doing it ..politicizing terrorism … and calling it security …
I for one, am so tired of right and left wing-nuts ..

Are you freaking kidding me Cedar? Did you even read the report. As a 25 year old veteran of the Army, I am deeply offended by this report that lacked basic facts or truths of any happenings at all. It was all paranoia by the libs that are now in control. They will continue to single out ANYONE who opposes their views of large govt, out of control spending, pissing on the constitution which includes the trampling of 1st, 2nd, and 10th amendment rights which has already happened under this admin. They along with the MSM will continue to focus on people who believe in the constitution, who have always loved this country (not just started to love it), defended her (the US) and her people, and who are hip to this admins over reach of its authority.

  8. Leaping Spark

The DHS report mirrors how our Commander and Thief feels about our military and anyone else who dares defy his dictatorship. Obama is a Communistic Muslim scumbag and if you are not with him completely you are against him. Welcome to the Socialist States of America, one nation soon to be under Islam, with liberty and justice for none!

  9. pointing to a larger view of things: as the push to disarm American Citizens became prevalent in the atmosphere of the approaching Bill Clinton Election, a large segment voted(after the AWB) with their pocketbook. The news to Congress was such that they allowed the bill to timetabled and it was sunsetted. Good. But during this time, the real worry was that of a burgeoning police state–which is what we have–oh sure–all in the names of saving us from the evil people out there. 9/11 occurred and we, voila, have DHS. BUT it is not focused on the border. It is not focused on protecting us from radical Muslim Terrorism(and this is the real threat, world-wide). It instead, has focused, in the early months of the Obama administration on the roots of conservative: The RKBA. The right to carry without a damned permit(Jefferson), the right to be free in person and property from interference by government(Search and Siezure Laws). The right not to testify against oneself(forced drug tests, blood tests without legal representation – or removal of the “privelege” which is now a license, which WAS a constitutional right.

So, what all of us feared with the 94 AWB, occurred under a “progressive” GOP President. A statist. So what is the DIF?

Fortunately and often unfortunately, our experienced military personnel who leave the service, are attracted to law enforcement. However, they do not seem to head the higher call of their duty–often are unaware of it, or it becomes covered in the enigma of carrying a badge and gun with license and authority.

NO PROBABLE CAUSE is the biggest problem that I experience, my younger son and older son and the latter was strapped naked in a chair in Montgomery County Texas and blood was withdrawn with force, humiliation and tyranny.

I will not brook this bullshit, even if his BAC was
    a hefty .081.

The first Tenant of our Republic was Liberty. That said in a nutshell is the problem as I see it in our law enforcement community.

3 weeks ago, returning from Terlingua Tx, a young woman, age 25, was stopped by the border patrol officials in Brewster Co TX. The vehicle searched, threats and physical intimidation and generally scaring this young woman to death. Just south of the area, the DHS was combing along the border
and threat of siezure of property, even going to the
remote site that was set up as a retreat if you will, was held over the young woman’s head.

    Enough is enough.

  12. Oh he’s gone, it’s magic GRIN 🙂

  13. Dubious? What war wasn’t? What war didn’t have returning vets in all kinds of states of mental welfare — from excellence and service to the Republic, to those who are indeed, less savory, criminal due to lack of moral or ethical background, or disturbed.

We can say that, in my life that every war has been dubious. After all, we have fought no declared war.
You can say all kinds of things about armed conflict, one party or another with a spin on them—just like now — but certainly I am not buying into the progressive left view of Iraq or Afghanistan. I am not going to abet the same lie and rejoinder of the American left, stimulated by the SDS and Weathermen(remnants of the communist party that re-emerged in new forms, the new wave after the 1948 Election).

I am not going to say what the liberals say, we honor our vets(which most assuredly by act and deed they do not — these two DHS reports, spring 09 are just another example) but we don’t support what we are doing.

Our republic is so divisive that their is no common agreement, least of all upon the principles of our Republic’s foundation, to which this article was working to address to the public.

We don’t have a Republic. We don’t have a constitutional Government. We are now a “state” without principle and without sufficient grounding, without compass except for greed apparently, those who want Government to save us from ourselves(which is where we are going), who want government succor at every turn, and those who would use economic gain as the only principle to which they adhere.

[audible sigh]…maybe we are so corrupted we deserve what Franklin wrote in his closing remarks to the Convention at Philadelphia 17 Sep 1787. It was a Tuesday, and no one could foresee what would happen or why. I cannot help but believe that this great influence was indeed the cause for men to pick up the pen and sign the document, and not voice their particular objections to it, heeding Franklin’s observation that he had been certain of his right and righteousness beforehand, but to listen to others found himself changing his mind on things which he once thought clearly he would never do. He remarked about two French Sisters, one saying to the other, sister, I meet with no ‘body” but myself that is alway in the right…Il n’y a que moi qui a toujours raison…” …and so in his remarks he observed: “…because I think a general Government necessary for us, and there is no form of Government but what may be a blessing to the people if well administered, and believe farther that this is likely to be well administered for a course of years, and can only end in Despotism, as other forms have done before it, when the people shall become so corrupted as to need despotic Government, being incapable of any other….”

Perhaps we are so corrupt as to deserve the despotic police state we now have, being incapable of self-governance, due to personal liberty taking, and lack of character(maybe including myself) which is so evident to me as I observe life so different after the post-WWII simplicity, to the complex morass that I see around me each day.

    best regards,
    dai

Unfortunately, my fellow Patriots, it is becoming clear that 90% of the American population is little more then monkeys. They believe every lie that Comrade Obama and his Communistic horde spew from their foul mouths. I’m finding it difficult to find anyone other then the folks who attended the tea partys that are upset by Obama’s rush to rebuild America according to the five pillars of Islam with him installed as the Socialist dictator.

I’m appalled at the number of people who think that Socialism, or possibly Communism is a good idea, but when you consider most of them have IQ’s less then 80 I guess that explains their mindless point of view. It basically boils down to patriots versus sheeples and the patriots are greatly out numbered. The military, former military, and anyone with a job or an IQ higher then 80 has become an radical extremist.
We who have forgotten history, are destined to repeat it!

  16. I am doing research on the collectivist problem myself, but see it as a massive challenge to write about with any degree of marked intelligence in reference to pointing at what is going on.

Here…. I will start with this: If you recall, Debt Bondage as used in terms of keeping the working class supressed and obligated, as from the reference point of the Communist Manifesto and other papers by Marx and Engels, then you can see what is going on — we are being put into Debt bondage and the result will be the Proletariat for most all of us(except the commi-tsars. 13 T. As noted yesterday, this 4680 x the value of all the gold in Ft. Knox at 1, 000 oz. Not including all of the debt preceding it.

I recall when my sons were about 6 and 8, and we were on vactation and I couldn’t afford to do something they wanted to do, they said just go to the ATM and get some more money. This is what was echoed by Congressman Ron Paul, a liberty caucus member of the GOP — he trade the LP in for more power and influence??? I guess.

“When I talk to many teenagers, [and] grade schoolers, they seem to have no problem comprehending the fact that if you just create a lot of money, it’ll be like monopoly money and it won’t have value,” he told the I.O.U.S.A. crew when they sat down with him for an interview for the film. …..Governments do that for all kinds of reasons, especially to enhance political power to fight wars we shouldn’t be fighting or to be passing welfare programs that aren’t deserved. When you print that money, the value of that dollar has to go down and then one of the consequences of inflating the money will be higher prices. But there are a lot of other problems with inflating, it causes financial bubbles and it causes a lot of economic distortions and unemployment – but inflation is very simple. When governments create new money out of thin air, you have inflation.” (1)

Well…we won’t have inflation — yet — because the value of the petrodollar has not sunk to the level of it’s true value. When it does, goods and services will then be sold at equity and after this, recovery can begin. But When? How Long? If we spend 13 T
to recover and it is a world wide problem, the we are saddling every child and grandchild with this debt and when recovery begins, inflation will also begin — as if by magic, right?

“….the state’s resources are not its own and its very success as an institution is determined largely by how much it spends. It is eager to spend money, to expand its operations and to reward its privileged class of individuals with jobs and other benefits.” (2)

or as Anthony Gregory observed a few paragraphs later, “The state is not leery of debt, since it’s not responsible for its own solubility; instead, one way or another, it burdens the taxpayer with its spending habits.” (2, ibid)

So what is the real deal? We have Tea Party’s and it was wonderful to see: a wide range of ages and people who appear to fit Jeff Foxworthy’s “Your A Redeck if” type solique to the common Man….I can hear the orchestra in the background, James Earl Jones speaking about Freedom and Liberty….nah.

What we have? It was expressed in Network, Mr. Beale, when the corporate power broker explained to Howard the truth of the matter: “…“Am I getting through to you, Mr. Beale? ….There is no America. There is no democracy. There is only IBM, and ITT, and AT&T, and DuPont, Dow, Union Carbide, and Exxon. Those are the nations of the world today…..We no longer live in a world of nations and ideologies, Mr. Beale. The world is a college of corporations, inexorably determined by the immutable bylaws of business. The world is a business, Mr. Beale. It has been since man crawled out of the slime. And our children will live, Mr. Beale, to see that…perfect world…in which there’s no war or famine, oppression, or brutality. One vast and ecumenical holding company, for whom all men will work to serve a common profit, in which all men will h old a share of stock. All necessities provided, all anxieties tranquilized, all boredom amused.” (3)

EVEN BARAK OBAMA DOESN’T UNDERSTAND THIS: He is still seaking the rule of the proletariat of the communist/socialist failed model of economics and the world. All Barak Obama does is play the guy on stage, who knows his lines but has to consult expert advisors on how to manipulate the public (read that as the Phaedrus, Socrates dealing with the persuader, the sophist, who could do the deed and win hearts but would have no good, or righteousness found within what he would do–because the method was all that matters))) – dai

    (1) comments by Congressman Ron Paul as quoted in the Daily Reckoning today, but I don’t know where the original source is from…
    (2) Law-Enforcement Socialism – Anthony Gregory, Von Mises Institute.

  17. David,

That is the reason I listen to Lou Dobbs. He says on a regular basis to the powers that be WE ARE CITIZENS NOT WORKERS. They don’t see Citizens, they only see Laborers.

The narrative being sold is wealth redistribution by Obama, supposedly helping the poor and middle class -right? Who wants to be fatted cows on the Government’s reservations? Matt Taibbi was selling “Class Envy” when he described the Tea Party Goers as having a Peasant Mentality… message don’t you all get, you could all be happy after we raid the wealthy, and redistribute all their money. (note to Taibbi I’m not unhappy) Can Taibbi’s message be made anymore simplistic for anyone to comprehend? So we have Peasant Mentality vs Herd Mentality (following the current trend)….and now look to the west for what we can look forward to California a Bell Whether State…remember Happy Cows come from California LMAO.

That is who is shaping the messages by the way for the masses to consume “marketers” not Statesmen. We all know the difference, the people who voted Obama into office, didn’t know what political party was in the majority in our congress. They were polled. They did pick up on the voting for Obama trend made you cool though….herd mentality.

  18. ILBlue

One must wonder why this was released to the public? Why do they want to demoralize the veterans and active duty military?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your service and dedication to our country. We honor you more than mere words can express.

And thank you for sharing your feelings with us.

  19. Thanks for all the wonderful words and discussion. The more I think about the DHS memo the more I become aware of the fact that it was meant to scare people into not joining the military and not joining the Tea Parties. It is another way to demoralize people in this country so they look to the government for bailing them out of their “depression.” Whoever released the memo is right in DC. It had an opposite effect…thank the good Lord for that!

  20. Leaping Spark

Obama release of the documents and photos dealing with the treatment of terrorist serves his purpose of inspiring, and angering his terrorist countrymen in Iraq, and Afghanistan. It will inspire the terrorist to kill more of our our soldiers. Obama hates the US military and could care less what happens to them. He is currently getting ready to create his own army of black militants, Muslims and commies sworn to him, not the Constitution. Personally I think every one of those Islamic terrorist captured in Irag or Afghanistan should be shot in the head with a bullet dipped in hog fat. I see no reason to give these Muslim terrorist scumbags anything but a one way ticket to hell. Our soldiers when captured are tortured, gang raped, shot or beheaded by these barbaric Islamic bastards. Our military is being disrespected by the DHS, our Muslim President, and our elected representatives, with so much hatred directed their way, I find it amazing that they can even do their job everyday. Regardless of what the scumbags in DC have to say, God bless our men and women in uniform, you are the best of us, kick ass, take names and come home soon. Your country needs you!
